| Patty Mora realized her love for art
while traveling throughout Europe as a child. Academically trained,
her art is about life experiences. Unable to limit herself to
one media she has experimented with painting, drawing, and video,
but, one constant in her work is photography another is her love
of animals. Roaming through the gritty
hard rock underworld of the nineties her work was hard edged
but always included a sense of love and respect for her subjects.
This sensibility in her work became a calling card to young
people who were experimenting with body art in search of their
identity and humanity during a technologically changing and
impersonal environment. Ultimately she was recognized for her
photographic documentation "The Flesh Art Chronicles".
Today she is offering this same respect and
love in her work about animals and pets, whose treatment by
humans reflects the state of our social environment. From pampered
creatures to abandoned and discarded lives, animals offer us
nothing but forgiveness and love. This new work is in honor
of our best friends, and to call to our attention to the humanity
of animals.
