Our sales tax policy is the State of Texas sales tax policy. If we sell merchandise to someone in Texas, regardless of whether it is over our website, we are required to collect 8.25% state sales tax. The only exception to this is when the buyer provides us with an exemption certificate. If we sell merchandise to an out of state customer, we aren't required to collect sales tax as we have no way to remit it to the applicable state. Texas doesn't have a "Reciprocal Agreement" with any other state regarding sales taxes.

Many of the items on our web site are “Special Order Items” which we do not normally stock. These products usually are designated as “SPECIAL ORDER ITEMS” in their product descriptions. See the next paragraph below for our policies regarding “Special Orders”.

Items not usually stocked by Precision Camera & Video and are called "Special Orders." Because of this, these items are not returnable. Special orders are placed as soon as possible with our normal orders. These items must be paid in full. If special handling, phone calls and /or extra efforts are necessary, you will be billed for them at our net plus a percentage equal to 5% or at least $10.00.

Is your Web order form secure?
top

Yes. We at Precision Camera & Video’s Internet Department are very serious about protecting you (and us) from credit card fraud. We verify EVERY card’s Billing Address before we ship your order to ensure it is really you who ordered it. Because of these safeguards, WE Ship ONLY to your cards’ billing address!

If you wish to have your products sent to a different address, you must set up an alternate shipping address simply by calling your credit card's issuing bank and requesting the addition. (THE 800 # IS ON THE BACK OF YOUR CREDIT CARD). This is a very simple procedure and only takes a few minutes.

For a full exchange the exchange must be made within 30 days of the purchase date. Certain items are NOT RETURNABLE: digital cameras, computer memory software, video capture cards, computer peripherals, boards, printers, video editors, film, batteries, photographic and inkjet paper, unsealed video tapes, and special ordered equipment.

Should I buy a film or digital camera?
top

The famous photographer Douglas Kirkland recently commented about the digital vs. traditional film photography debate. He said, "Imagine a world where images have always been captured digitally, not on film." Then he asked us to further imagine that film was the "new" technology. Wouldn’t we be excited about a medium that didn’t need to be downloaded to a computer, had ten times the resolution of the best digital equipment available and at a cost of just dollars per roll? I think we sometimes forget the obvious answer is, YES!

Whether we capture images digitally or on film, it basically comes down to a couple of simple questions. How good does it need to be and how much does it cost? While digital is certainly the rage, it is clear that film based images are simply beautiful! I have heard that Kodachrome has an equivalent digital resolution of 25 million pixels, compared to the best digital cameras that top out at 6 million pixels (and cost thousands of dollars).

Film cameras provide much greater resolution than digital cameras and will for the forseeable future although that will eventually change. Rule of thumb, if you take photos that will primarily be printed, purchase a film camera. If on the other hand, you are taking photos that will primarily be displayed on a computer monitor on your website or if you want to store the photos on computer storage devices, purchase a digital camera. Film cameras are dollar for dollar an unbeatable value over digital cameras in terms of printed picture quality.
