A $28.50 deposit is required for a written estimate, and to initiate your repair. If you decide to have your camera repaired with us within 30 days of the estimate, the $28.50 will be applied to the total repair bill. Otherwise, the deposit constitues a non-refundable service fee. We can clean the exterior of your equipment for an additional $10.00 at the time of repair. Over 10,000 Replacement Parts in Stock We stock over 10,000 different parts for many different types of cameras, and if your equipment is less than 10 years old we can special order parts that we don't stock. Generally, special order parts take 2-4 weeks to arrive from the factory.We can expedite the shipping on a part for $10.00 and have the part at PCV in approximately a week. If you have a repair deposit with us it can also serve as your parts deposit. If not, please include a $10.00 deposit for special order parts. Please keep in mind that the part you request may be backordered and require a longer than usual turnaround time. The PCV Repair Warranty On all equipment not used professionally, we offer a 6-month limited warranty specific to repair work done. Video equipment, digital equipment, commercially and professionally used equipment have a 90-day warranty. Warranty service is not available for cameras with sand, water or impact damage as well as user neglect. Rush service is available If you’re in a hurry and you need rush service, Precision Camera is there for you. We will put your equipment at the front of the repair line to be looked at by the first available technician, and we will do our best to have your repair completed in one day. Due to parts available, service information, and other issues beyond our control, we cannot make any guarantees. The charge for a rush repair is 200% the cost of a regular repair. About Factory Repairs If for whatever reason your equipment needs to go to a Factory Authorized Service Center (FASC) for repair, we can deal with the shipping, payments and paperwork for you. Most Factory Authorized Service Centers have flat repair rates for specific equipment. Please feel free to give us a call or email us and we will be happy to provide you the flat rate for your equipement, if known. If your equipment has no published flat rate and needs a factory repair, then it will have to be sent as “Estimate Only” to the factory. Approximately 3 weeks after we send your equipment we will receive an estimate. At this time you will be contacted for approval. Some factories charge an “Estimate Refusal Fee” or “Bench Fee” (between $45-65) to determine what is wrong with your equipment. Kodak, Sony, any camcorder repair, Leica, and Novatron all charge bench fees, among others. We must take this fee up front in order to send your camera in for repair plus $25.00 shipping for a total of $65-$85 plus tax. Most FASC repairs take about 6 weeks before they are returned to Precision. We charge $25.00 for shipping. Most factories do not have a rush service available, but for an extra $15 we can send your camera overnight and request that it be sent back the same way. This will take about 2 weeks off the repair time.
